Nuttall Tire: A Legacy of Service, Now Part of the Palmetto Garage Works Family

Located at 3215 Two Notch Rd. in Columbia, SC, Nuttall Tire has been a trusted name in automotive care since 1984. Originally a tire shop, evolving into a full-service auto repair center, proudly serving Columbia and surrounding areas, including Lexington, Irmo, Cayce, and West Columbia.

Now, we’re excited to share the next chapter of our journey. Nuttall Tire has joined forces with Midas, owned by Palmetto Garage Works—a family-owned business with deep roots in South Carolina. Founded by Gus and Jimmy Herlong in 2008, Palmetto Garage Works has grown from five Midas locations in Columbia to 34 locations across the Midlands, Lowcountry, Upstate, Pee Dee, North Florida, & Washington DC.

Though ownership has changed, our commitment to top-tier service remains the same. Our local ownership, national backing, and ASE-certified master technicians, allows us to continue offering expert auto repairs, routine maintenance, and a top selection of Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Yokohama, Bridgestone, Firestone, General, Continental, and more. We also provide lift and leveling kits to keep your vehicle performing at its best.

Beyond auto care, the Herlong’s and Palmetto Garage Works are passionate about giving back to the community. They actively support organizations like Camp Cole, Palmetto Baseball League, Harvest Hope Food Bank, the American Red Cross, and more— including providing fully repaired vehicles to families in need each year.
